Rob Atwill, D.V.M., M.P.V.M, Ph.D.

Dr. Rob AtwillI received my Bachelor of Arts in 1985 from the University of California, San Diego, with a major in Animal Physiology. I reecived my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (Food Animal emphasis) in 1990 from the University of California, Davis, and in 1991 I received a Master of Preventive Veterinary Medicine (Herd Health emphasis) from the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, University of California, Davis. I continued my studies in Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases at Cornell University where I received a Ph.D. in 1994.  I chose UC Davis as my academic institution since it had a very compelling and forward-thinking faculty position open when I was in the job market.  I participate in the GGE since my primary mode of generating scientific inferences is through both analytical epidemiology and the application of quantitive microbiology within a risk assessment framework.
